The weather may have been a little cloudy, but we saw sunny skies ahead for our community as 200 golfers played for a purpose in OneCompassion’s annual golf tournament!

50 teams of sponsors, advocates, and partners came together to play a round of golf to raise over $200,000 to fill the gap for our neighbors in need, right here in Johnston County!

“When a crisis hits, access to practical resources can be the difference between just a “bump in the road”, or a forever life changing event. We are here today to bridge that gap,” said Reid Smith, founder of OneCompassion. “Thank you for showing the compassion of Jesus to a world that needs it more than ever. Your generous gift to OneCompassion this year helped sustain that work and expand our vision to do even more in 2022.”

Thanks to our donors, in 2021 we were able to:

• Serve 409 people, including 282 children through our annual Holiday Ministry
• Complete a $180k school building renovation to give hurting and vulnerable teenage girls a safe place to learn and heal.
• Provide $25,000 of practical assistance in moments of crisis. This included things like helping with utility bills, home repairs, and groceries.

We were thrilled to announce at the tournament our next big partnership with Harbor of Johnston County! Harbor is Johnston County’s only nonprofit agency for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and families in transition. Harbor provides safe and compassionate environment with advocacy services, resources, and programs. Their shelter has experienced a great deal of flooding since its opening in 2016. With the support of our family of brands and your generous contributions, we will begin work on a project to mitigate the flooding issues at that site.
